BALANCED EQUINE DENTISTRY
BIO
My name is Jerry Schmidt.
Some years ago I set out on a new journey with my wife and horses. It started with natural training methods taught by Pat and Linda Parelli. The next step was getting the feet balanced and working for the horses.
The next natural progression was the teeth, after all the foundations are the most important to the horse.
After many visits with Spencer LaFlure, watching him work at the Savvy Conference. I decided to go to one of the new dental classes he was teaching. The first class was a week long in September of 2005.
WHAT AN EYE OPENER that was.
I had enough knowledge to go out and do some dental work, but realized I knew just enough to be dangerous. I was not sure how to translate what I was feeling into what I needed to do for the horse. So I did nothing on any horses until I could return to class again and get more information and practice. After the next class I felt empowered to go home and be able to align and balance a horses' mouth with a reasonable amount of precision and no soft tissue damage.
I have since accumulated thousands of hours of intense study close to the source and in our field realigning and balancing the horse’s mouth. I am currently working on my thesis here at home among our own 40 horses.
I have attended 12 week long classes plus hours of time outside of class studying with Spencer LaFlure THE TOOTH FAIRY.
Below is a link to a Power Point presentation on www.authorstream.com which may help you decide what is right for your horses. It is a basic common sense approach to an age old concern for the horses health and performance.
